Creating value beyond expectations

The project for Angel Films focused on creating a seamless experience for film professionals to browse equipments, build wishlists, and request quotes on Angel Films website. By combining research insights, collaborative workshops, and an improved information structure, the redesigned flows enhanced usability and aligned perfectly with client goals. The final solution streamlined workflows, elevated the user experience, and delivered added value beyond initial expectations.

Bridging systems and user needs

Angel Films needed a streamlined user flow for their clients to:

  • Browse products easily on their website.
  • View product details and add items to a wishlist.
  • Send the wishlist to Angel Films for a quotation request.

The project posed two primary challenges:

  1. Ensuring seamless integration between Angel Films' back-end system, which managed their product and client data, and the newly designed website.
  2. Designing an intuitive, customer-friendly solution for the equipment section of the site. This involved rethinking the information architecture, wishlist user flow, search functionality, and overall user experience to meet the specific needs of their clientele.

From research to wireframes

The project began with thorough research, including benchmarking competitors in the film equipment rental market to gain insights into industry standards and user expectations. We also conducted a comprehensive survey to understand Angel Films' business processes and market position.

Two workshops were held to dive deep into the existing website and operational challenges. These sessions helped us define the minimum viable product (MVP) and establish a clear roadmap for the project.

After the research phase, I took the following steps:

  1. Combined the workshop findings and sketched the first drafts of the wishlist flow on a whiteboard, focusing on IA, content, and functionality.
  2. Designed detailed wireframes, incorporating precise hierarchies and measurements to ensure a smooth handoff to the UI team. While my role focused on wireframes, I delivered pixel-perfect solutions to streamline the UI developers workflow.

Exceeding expectations

I successfully designed a wishlist user flow that exceeded the client's expectations by meeting all project goals:

  • Simplified equipment browsing.
  • Streamlined wishlist creation and order process.
  • Improved overall user experience for the equipment section.

The client was highly satisfied with the results, and I gained valuable experience working on a niche user flow in the film industry. To go above and beyond, I also created wireframes for the profile page, delighting the client with additional value.

This project showcased my ability to design user-centered solutions, deliver expectations, and collaborate effectively to achieve impactful results.
