Recruitment-first design with engaging stories

The re-designed website for Amplit Ltd. was crafted to highlight recruitment and showcase the company's strengths through engaging employee stories and a user-centric design. Strict brand guidelines shaped the creative process, while research and remote workshops ensured the final product met both client and user needs, delivering a modern and effective solution.

Aligning brand and recruitment goals

Amplit Ltd., a building technology solutions provider, needed a website that aligned with their newly designed brand guidelines while effectively attracting job seekers. The project emphasized:

  • Highlighting the recruitment section to make the company appealing to potential employees.
  • Showcasing services and employee stories to provide a compelling view of the organization.
  • Ensuring the site was visually aligned with the brandbook, including black-and-white photos, colors and shapes.

From research to visual design

The project began with comprehensive research, including client surveys to understand the existing challenges, competitors, and goals. Insights from this research gave us valuable data for the two remote workshops where we:

  • Defined the website's key objectives.
  • Developed user personas, user journeys, and user flows.
  • Mapped out essential features for the site.

Leveraging these findings, I took the following steps:

  1. Designed the website's information architecture (IA) and site map to ensure clear navigation and logical content structure.
  2. Created wireframes with responsive design, ensuring precise spacing and alignment.
  3. Designed the visual layout with Sketch and Adobe Photoshop, adhering to brand guidelines while adding creative elements, such as color transitions on hover for black-and-white images—a feature the client loved.

A modern site the client loved

The final design delivered a user-friendly website that met all the client's goals:

  • A recruitment-focused design that appealed to young job seekers.
  • Highlighted employee stories to engage users and guide them through a seamless conversion funnel.
  • Call-to-action (CTA) elements optimized for clarity and usability.

The client was delighted with the website's usability, modern aesthetic, and adherence to the brandbook. They provided excellent feedback, praising both the visual layout and functionality.

This project expanded my expertise in web design for a niche industry and taught me valuable skills in conducting remote workshops. The challenge of balancing strict visual guidelines with creativity pushed my design abilities to the next level, and the outcome reflected a solution that was both effective and innovative.
